Everybody Ought To Know What’s Up With SEYFETTİN

Since late August (2010) I’ve been working with a band in the 9th annual, international music collaboration project at the Womb called C.A.P.E. The Basement Heroes are my band and teammates, we are recording an original song that I – coincidentally – wrote last Ramazan titled, You’re A New Yorker Now.

“New Yorker” – as I often refer to it – is an anthem or sorts about a young woman who moves to New York City with big dreams. But what she finds here is much darker than the gold paved streets and silver lined clouds of her imagination. Despite her frustrations, she finds the resolve and determination of a true “New Yorker” to find her happiness.

Greg Lamarche, from The New Family, is onboard to produce the project. We have a very talented bunch of guys and a soulful gal in what is essentially a five piece rock-band. I’ve included a previously released version of the song recorded by my band Robot Pop Garage for those interested in having a listen. Enjoy and please leave comments.
