“Jones’ ignorance about the teachings and beliefs of Islam is not uncommon. More than half of respondents in a recent poll by the Pew Forum for Religion & Public Life said they knew little or nothing about the Muslim faith.” (The Anniston Star)

  • Just A Thought says:

And what do the Hadith say about Jesus?

  • abdul-halim says:

There are literally dozens of hadith on Jesus which cover different topics. His status, his appearance, his purity, his relation to other prophets, his role in the Last Days.

Also, some other interesting works are “Jesus in the Eyes if the Sufis” by Javad Nurbakhsh and “The Muslim They include reports, sayings, and texts which aren’t limited what is strictly “authoritative” for Muslims (Quran and sahih hadith) but they include examples of poetry and legends but they flesh out the image of Jesus in popular Muslim culture.

  • Just A Thought says:

    Hmmm…

I was referring to those not so nice things that are included in the hadith.

“I was referring to those not so nice things that are included in the hadith.”

      Ah, right like:
      Narrated Abu Burda’s father:

Allah's Apostle said "Three persons will have a double reward:

A Person from the people of the scriptures who believed in his prophet (Jesus or Moses) and then believed in the Prophet Muhammad (i .e. has embraced Islam)…

      or

Allah’s Apostle said, “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Mary (Jesus) will shortly descend amongst you people (Muslims) as a just ruler and will break the Cross and kill the pig and abolish the Jizya (a tax taken from the non-Muslims, who are in the protection, of the Muslim government). Then there will be abundance of money and no-body will accept charitable gifts.

      or

      “Narrated Ibn Abbas:

The Prophet said, “On the night of my Ascent to the Heaven, I saw Moses who was a tall brown curly-haired man as if he was one of the men of Shan’awa tribe, and I saw Jesus, a man of medium height and moderate complexion inclined to the red and white colors and of lank hair. I also saw Malik, the gate-keeper of the (Hell) Fire and Ad-Dajjal amongst the signs which Allah showed me.” (The Prophet then recited the Holy Verse): “So be not you in doubt of meeting him’ when you met Moses during the night of Mi’raj over the heavens” (32.23)

Narrated Anas and Abu Bakra: “The Prophet said, “The angels will guard Medina from Ad-Dajjal (who will not be able to enter the city of Medina).”

Ad-Dajjal refers to the Anti-Christ or the Imposter as we know him.
