U.S. May Concede to Talks with Syria and Iran

November 21, 2006 § 6 Comments

When I stumbled upon this interview it provided a great deal of relief. Not because it was extremely positive and seemingly rosy. Because its not, in fact its rather dry and skeptical hence the materialization of whats really in the back of everyone’s mind. But because the momentum of the U.S. diplomatic developments with Syria and Iran has reversed. I recall not too long ago writing an article citing Bill Kristol saying,

“We can try diplomacy. I’m not very hopeful about that. We have to be ready to use force.” Kristol claimed the people of Iran would embrace “the right use of targeted military force.” He added that military force could “trigger changes in Iran,” causing them to embrace regime change.” (Faiz, Think Progress)

And now with Rumsfeld off of the field and Pelosi in the House, the U.S. may be able to extend peace talks for progressive outcomes. However, we must remain prudent and simply decide on whether talks are forseeable as Robert Siegel and Richard Haass imply in a discussion on Syria and Iran,

“Robert Siegel talks with Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, about the possibility of engaging Syria and Iran in talks about Iraq. Haass was the head of policy planning at the State Department during President Bush’s first administration.” (NPR) audio2

    “How to embed flash audio?”

It is not flash… it is a .gif. You can create .gif very easily… upload them as an image and configure however you see fit.

Sorry about the confusion Abu Sahajj, but I WAS asking how to embed flash audio. I should have made that more clear.

I’m not sure… did you figure it out already?

I’ll keep my finger crossed…but the news on the left blogosphere is talking about Bu$hCo. tossing another 20,000 logs on the fire. Seems like Dim Son learned nothing from the “thumpin'” he got on election day. Oh and the Bushies seem to want Iran to surender BEFORE the talks start. I’ve got to stop or my head will explode. To quote Nova M air personality Mike Malloy “have I told you today how much I hate these people?”
