Big business and retailers have realized that women are the most influential consumers of our day-to-day purchases. This realization is materializing as a shift in marketing strategy according to NPR news story,

“Women make the household purchases in 80 percent of homes. Now, more and more businesses realize that what women want are power tools, dishwashers, digital cameras, automobiles and houses.” (NPR) audio2
