in the u.k while commenting on new demands for profiling at airports some have claimed that it is going to bring about a new offence of “travelling while being Asian”

I have already dealt with the profiling here in New York City… there is something called a random search occurring in NYC, however it is associated more with subway travelers, it is a great nusance. I can just imagine the kind of insult profiling would have on the UK. What an awful thing…

I have been searching through many Muslim and non-Muslim blogs just to read the overall thoughts about Muslims in light of current events. I have also been going to Nielsen Buzz-metrics (BlogPulse) to analyze current trends and buzz words in the blogos…

I think all white males need to be profiled. Most terrorists are white europeans, just ask any Iraqi, Palestinian, Vietnamese, Panamanian etc. I may not feel good about it but their track record speaks for itself.

The jury is still out on this. We have to remember that Adam Yahiye Gadahn, the alleged Southern Californian Jihadist is lilly white. And, the two islamic convertees who were to participate in the faied liquid drink plane plots may not fit the profile.

The girl who allegedly was going to sacrafic her 6 month old baby for jihad would not have fit the profie. We could go on with more examples on why we should not profile.

Then again the past several significant terror acts may fit the profile. It will pain me if we have to separate out 18 - 40 year old south asian males from the population to get an extra search, but, for the good of all the travelers it may the the right decision. Until the world complelely rejects and case out extremism, we may be forced to do it (profile.) I will not feel good about it, is there another way to ensure the safety of the traveling public?

Do you have any suggestions?

P.S.the term Asian in the UK is used for people of the Indian sub-continent and not Chinese.
